Product HighlightsIR Extender over HDMI Kit
The problem with locating your audio/video devices in a closed cabinet or another room is that it breaks the line of sight that the remote control relies on. The IR extender over HDMI turns any HDMI cable into an IR controller, allowing you to keep all your IR devices, such as a Blu-ray player in a closed cabinet or in another room while still being able to control it from your display device located in your central home theater room, such as a HDTV.
Our Solution
The IR extender over HDMI kit allows the user to control audio/video devices that are not in direct line of sight of the remote control. To connect the IR extender kit, connect one HDMI repeater into the source (Blu-ray player, etc.) and the other HDMI repeater into the display end (HDTV, monitor, etc). Then connect the HDMI cable in between. Connect the IR micro-emitter cable to the HDMI repeater at the source end and then the IR receiver cable to the HDMI repeater at the display end. The IR emitter should be placed in front of the IR sensor of the source, while the IR receiver should be placed in front of the display for better line of sight. This extender is non-directional so each side can plug-in the IR receiver or IR emitter. The kit allows extensions up to 50 feet of HDMI cable.
