Micro SATA and Slimline SATA Comparison


MicroSATA                    
Micro SATA is used with 1.8" hard drives and SSD drives.
It integrates power and data onto one connector (7 pin data, 9 pin power (in 7+2 configuration)).

Slimline SATA                   
Slimline SATA is used for laptop and notebook CD / DVD / BluRay drives.
It integrates power and data onto one connector (7 pin data, 6 pin power)
Regular SATA is found in desktop computers and some laptops.
SATA uses 7 pins for data, and 15 for power.
A combo 22-pin connector is also available, and worrks for regular SATA drives.
