We will start with the camera and the base. |
Screw the camera into the base, and then adjust the angle of the camera using the turn-handle. Then, the camera may be mounted. Use the turn-handle to make final adjustments to the camera angle. Make sure the camera is secure. |
Connect the power cord to the AC adapter, and the network connector to your network. A blue led light will be on when the camera is powered. |
Insert the CD-ROM disk into the computer drive, and select Install Wizard. Proceed with the installation of the "Setup Wizard" program. |
Next, we will get some information from your computer. Go to Start->Run. Type in "cmd" and click 'ok'. |
Type in ipconfig. Press Enter. Write down the IP address, and the Default Gateway. |
Now we will run the software. In Windows, go to "Setup Wizard". |
The right part of this screen shows a listing of all cameras connected. Any camera detected on your network will show up on this list. Click Wizard. (If no cameras are listed, try putting the camera on another network jack, and make sure the cable is a patch cable, not a crossover cable.) |
If it asks about changing the IP address, click 'Yes'.
On this screen, log in by clicking 'Ok'. |
You will get a screen similar to this, asking for IP/Subnet/Gateway.
(You may need to go past an ID/password setup screen to get there.) Set the Gateway to be the same as the Gateway on your computer. Set the IP address to be the same as your comptuer's, except for the last three digits. For the last three digits of the IP, choose a number that is relatively close. (The number should not be used by other devices on your network. IPconfig can be run on other computers to verify.) Click 'Ok'. |
The main wizard screen appears. Note the new ip address. Click "Link". |
The web browser will be launched. You may need to allow ActiveX if using Internet Explorer.
(Note that the address of the website is the same as the IP address of the camera, which can be accessed using any web browser on your network.) This screen will show a still image from the camera. If no picture shows up, 1) try setting a different ip address for the camera 2) make sure the camera LEDs are on |
