Setting up the network

Bring the unit to a computer for setup.
Connect the AC cord to the unit.
Connect the USB cord between the unit and the computer.

|
On the computer, go to Start->Run and type in "cmd" and press enter.
Then, type in "ipconfig"
Write down the "IP Address" and "Default Gateway" numbers.

In My Computer, look for the EV3000 icon with the square box. Double click the icon.
|
|
Allow the software to install. Log in with "root" and "pass".
|
|
A screen like this should come up. Click on "Quick Wizard"
|
|
Select "Static IP" and click "Next"
|
|
Set "Gateway" to the same address as the PC's Gateway.
Set "IP Address" to be the same as the PC's IP address except for the last set of digits. For the last set of digits, select a unique number. (For example, we chose 36 as the last set of digits, instead of the PC's 100.)
Write down the unit's new IP address. Click "Next" and then close the window. Then, unplug the USB cable.

Install the software on the cd.

|
Unplug the USB cable from the unit if it is still plugged in.
Connect an RJ-45 cable between this unit and a network router.
Mount the camera. Connect the power and BNC cable to the camera.

On the PC, start up Etrostation.
|
|
Click on camera icon.
|
|
Click on the plus sign to add a node.
|
|
Click on search.
|
|
Highlight the IP address that shows up, and click "OK"
(The IP address should match the one assigned to the unit.)

Under "Node Name", we have given it a name of 'Camera1'
Under "Login Info", we have selected 'Guest'
Click "OK"
|
|
Camera1 will now be listed in the upper right.
If the list is not visible, click on the camera icon in the lower right part of the window (not shown here).

To view video from Camera1, double-click on "Camera1" and double-click on "CH#1"
|
|
Video will now begin to show.
|
|
To record video, right click on the camera (CH#1), and select "Edit Record Schedule"
If you get an "insufficient disk space" message, click on the tool icon, set a lower DiskFull number, and change storage location if necessary. Then restart Etrostation.

Click "Enable this schedule"
Select "Always". (Choosing the other options will allow specific recording times to be set).
Click "OK"

|
To record, click on the computer icon. The arrow is on red during recording.
To stop recording, click on the computer icon again.
|
|
The video will be saved to the "save" folder with folders for year, month, and day.
|
|
To access the unit from a web browser, type in the IP address of the unit in Internet Explorer.
For example, the web address could be: http://192.168.1.36
(To get the IP address from Etrostation, right click on "Camera1" and select "Modify Node Info")
The default login is "root" and "pass".

The live video will display. To change settings, click on the icon in the upper right.
|
|
The settings screen allow basic and advanced settings to be changed. You can set recording to FTP under the menu "Capture". Recording to FTP can be triggered by motion detection, video loss, or a one-time timer. Other settings will cover video settings, motion detection, notification, security, and network settings. Regular scheduled recordings can be done through Etrostation.
To return to live video, click on the icon in the upper right.
