Charge the scanner in the base. Insert the driver cd into the computer. |

Select "Install BTW Utility". Click "Next" on the next few screens, and then "Install". |

The driver will be installed. Click "OK" to the Driver Signature Notice. |

At this screen, plug in the bluetooth adapter into a USB port. You may use the included USB stand (to allow for extended range).
Click "OK" |

If prompted, allow Windows to install software automatically. |

At this screen, click "Next" |
|
Provide a computer name, and select a type. We have entered "Cash register #1" and "Desktop". |

Click "Next" |

No services are needed for the scanner; you may choose to deselect all checkboxes if desired.
Click "Next" |

On the scanner, press the scanner button and hold for a second. Wait a few seconds for the scanner to connect (there may be a long beep). Place the scanner within line-of-sight to the bluetooth adapter.
Click "Next" |

It should find a "Marson" device. If not, click the scanner itself for a second, and then select "search again". Highlight the Marson device and click "Next" |

Enter a security code required for using the scanner on this computer. Then, click "pair now", wait for the scanner to beep, go to 51-3 in the printed manual, and scan in the pin code and the "CR" barcode. |

Select "keyboard".
Click "Finish" |

You may test the unit by scanning in numbers in Notepad.
If the scanner does not produce numbers, right click on the bluetooth icon (in the bottom right icon bar), select "Explore my bluetooth places", select on "Entire Bluetooth Neighborhood", double-click on the Mason device, and click Yes. The scanner will beep to confirm a bluetooth connection. |

| Scanner beeps 3 times and does not scan. | Click and hold the scanner button for 1 second. Wait for a long beep.
Make sure the scanner is within distance of the bluetooth adapter. You may use the USB base with the bluetooth adapter for a better position. |
