Why HDMI?
|
HDMI is a newer connection used on HDTV sets, DVD players, cable boxes, and HDTV computer monitors. It is an all-digital audio/video interface. Both video and digital audio are carried on the same cable. Standard and high definition video are both supported.

Can I use HDMI with DVI?
|
DVI-D can drive HDMI displays. If the HDMI display requires HDCP on all content, then the DVI source must support HDCP for output.
HDMI from a DVD / Bluray player or Cable box can go to a DVI-D monitor port. If HDCP is present in the source, then the display must also support HDCP.

What is a ferrite?
|
Ferrites will reduce video noise, in order to gurantee a clean picture, and will minimize electrical noise emissions.

Does HDMI allow for long cable lengths?
|
Yes. HDMI's standard copper cable construction allow for long length transmission. PI Manufacturing sells HDMI cables up to 100 feet, as well as HDMI repeaters.

What is the flat HDMI cable?
|
Flat HDMI cables allow for installation under carpet and furniture, for a lower profile and a reduced risk of damage.

What is Type A HDMI?
|
It is the the current generation format for HDMI cables, using a 19 pin configuration. It supports all HDTV formats up to 1080p, the highest broadcast standard.

What is Type C HDMI or mini HDMI?
|
Type C HDMI, also known as mini-HDMI, is found on some camcorders and portable video devices. It is more compact than the standard HDMI connector.
