Here are the tools used:
Select the appropriate stripping dimensions. You may use the one pictured. |
Cable dimensions may vary. If necessary, you can fine tune the stripping lengths using the screw adjustments. |
Slide the metal sleeve onto the cable. |
Strip the cable by rotating clockwise about 3 times, and then counterclockwise about 2 times. |
Pull the jacket and insulation off the first part. |
The cable should look something like this. |
Strip the outer jacket from the second part. |
Peel back the braiding. |
Peel the outer aluminum layer only. Leave the inner aluminum layer as-is.
The center conductor should not touch the aluminum or the braiding. |
Trim the center conductor slightly, so that the golden cap will fit. |
Slide the golden cap over the center conductor. |
It should look something like this. |
Crimp the golden cap. Do not crimp the base of the cap, but crimp just up to it. |
The cable will look something like this. |
Slide the connector on. The aluminum foil should be inside the connector. |
Trim away excess braiding. |
Continue to slide the connector up the cable. The golden cap should line up close to the end of the connector. Slide the metal sleeve up. You may trim the outer jacket if it is too thick. |
Crimp the sleeve. |
The finished cable will look like this. |
