Passive Video Balun, Camera Side

The purpose of a passive video balun is to a send video signal and power through a Cat5e cable, this type of video balun is good for setups of up to 1000ft. PI Manufacturing offers a great passive video balun solution for your camera setup. Also, this video balun has overload protection which prevents harm to your devices if the power load is over the capacity. It is also equipped with a surge protector to regulate and protect your devices from over voltage. Another key feature is the external cable with the connectors, making it easy to install in tight spaces. This is great for small offices and home use at a great price due to cutting out expensive and heavy coaxial and power cables. It is also a great way to keep track of which cable belongs to which camera and in case of future maintenance, you would only be switching out a single CAT5e. Don't be fooled by other company's video baluns, 12V signals drop at about 300 ft. So if you run the cables too far, your cameras will not have enough power to operate. If you supply too much power such as an 18V, without a converter, you will burn your camera causing the project to more pricey that it needs to be.
